Retail Assistant: Job Description

Retail assistants are responsible for ensuring a customer’s in-store experience runs as smoothly as possible. Customers will often seek out a retail assistant as a first point of contact if they need to find a specific item or process a transaction quickly, so being up-to-date on stock and company processes is a must. Retail assistants also need to be as knowledgeable as possible on all the products and services their branch and the wider company offers, so customers aren’t left with any doubts regarding whether or not they are making the right purchasing decision.

On top of all this, retail assistants often need to be able to provide product knowledge to customers, helping them choose the best products for their needs. In short, retail assistants are the face of the store, and a key part of keeping a business running smoothly.
